1. Introduction and Application

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern all plumbing, heating, and gas services provided by Quick Heating Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) to any customer (“you”, “your”).

1.2. By booking our services, requesting an engineer visit, or using our website at https://quickheating.co.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.3. We cater to domestic residential clients, commercial landlords, and letting agents. Where services are supplied to a business or a commercial landlord/letting agent acting in the course of business, specific business terms (such as commercial late payment rules) will apply.

1.4. All gas work will be carried out by engineers registered with the Gas Safe Register in compliance with current legal regulations.

2. Estimates, Quotations, and Call-Outs

2.1. Quotes and Estimates: Estimates and quotations for standard residential properties are provided free of charge. For larger commercial projects, multi-tenant properties, or blocks of flats, we reserve the right to charge a survey or scoping fee, which will be communicated in advance.

2.2. Validity: Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.

2.3. Variations: If unforeseen work arises once work has commenced (such as hidden pipe damage, asbestos, or non-compliant pre-existing installations), we will inform you and provide an updated price before proceeding.

3. Bookings, Deposits, and Cancellations for Installations

3.1. Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required for major installations (such as new boiler installations) prior to work commencing. This deposit covers the cost of procuring bespoke materials and equipment.

3.2. Cancellation by Customer (Installations): If you cancel a boiler or major installation after equipment and materials have been ordered or purchased, the deposit is strictly non-refundable. You will also be liable for any additional restocking fees or non-returnable material costs incurred by us.

3.3. Rescheduling: We require at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule standard breakdown or maintenance appointments. Failure to provide notice may result in a wasted visit charge.

4. Customer Responsibilities and Access

4.1. Access: You must provide clear, safe, and unobstructed access to the property and the relevant work areas (including boilers, meters, and pipework) at the agreed appointment time.

4.2. Utilities: You must ensure that the property has active supplies of gas, water, and electricity for testing and operational purposes.

4.3. Parking and Permits: If parking restrictions apply at the property location, you must inform us in advance and, where necessary, provide valid parking permits or cover reasonable parking costs incurred by our engineers.

5. Payment Terms

5.1. Due Date: Payment for all services, parts, and labor is due immediately upon completion of the work.

5.2. Methods: Payment can be made via the methods indicated on our invoice or website (e.g., bank transfer, card payment).

5.3. Late Payments:

  • Domestic Customers: Failure to pay immediately may result in interest being charged on overdue amounts at a rate of 4% above the Bank of England base rate per annum.

  • Commercial and Letting Agent Customers: We reserve the right to claim statutory interest and debt recovery compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5.4. Title to Goods: All materials, parts, and equipment supplied remain the property of Quick Heating Ltd until paid for in full. We retain the legal right to repossess any unpaid goods.

6. Prompt Reporting of Issues and Feedback

6.1. To ensure swift resolution, you must inspect our work immediately upon completion.

6.2. Any defects, leaks, or dissatisfaction regarding the service must be reported to us in writing via email to [Insert Email Address] or through our website within:

  • 48 hours for urgent issues (such as water leaks or gas/heating failures).

  • 7 days for general plumbing, maintenance, or Landlord Gas Safety Certificates. 6.3. Failure to report issues within these timeframes limits our liability regarding subsequent secondary damage.

7. Our Right to Rectify Work

7.1. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of our workmanship or services, you agree to give Quick Heating Ltd a reasonable opportunity (minimum 14 working days) to investigate, inspect, and rectify the issue at our own cost.

7.2. You must not hire a third-party contractor to alter, repair, or undo our work, nor make public claims, reviews, or legal demands, without first giving us written notice and a fair opportunity to rectify the matter under Clause 7.1.

7.3. If you contract a third party to carry out remedial work without granting us this right to rectify, we will accept no liability for any costs incurred, and all workmanship guarantees/warranties will be immediately invalidated.

8. Limitation of Liability and Exclusions

8.1. Pre-existing Faults: Plumbing and heating systems are interconnected. Introducing high pressure or clearing blockages in old, degraded, or fragile pipework can expose pre-existing weaknesses. Quick Heating Ltd is not liable for structural failures, leaks, or breakdowns occurring on pre-existing pipework, radiators, or valves that were not replaced as part of our scope of work.

8.2. Consequential Loss: We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, business interruption, or damage to property resulting from unforeseen system failures, except where caused directly by our proven negligence.

8.3. Cap on Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quick Heating Ltd’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with our services shall be strictly limited to the total value of the invoice paid for the specific job in question.

8.4. Statutory Rights: Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for domestic consumers).

9. Landlord Gas Safety Certificates & Warranties

9.1. Landlord Certificates: Annual Gas Safety Records (CP12) will be issued once testing is successfully completed and any required remedial safety work has been paid for.

9.2. Boiler Warranties: Manufacturer warranties for new boiler installations are subject to the boiler being serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer (ideally Quick Heating Ltd) in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Failure to do so may void your warranty.
